Scarborough, Ontario born Dwayne “DeRo” De Rosario’s pro career spanned 20 years in club and international football. As the 2nd all-time scorer for the National Team, a 4x MLS Cup Champion, and the 2011 MLS MVP, DeRo is one of the most decorated professional athletes in Canada and Major League Soccer (MLS). His contributions to the growth of soccer reach well beyond the pitch as evidenced by his appointment to The Order of Ontario in 2020.
Since retiring in 2015, DeRo focuses much of his time & energy towards the community. He is the Founder of DeRo Foundation (Est. 2014), a charitable endowment fund that uses soccer as a platform to help kids from underprivileged neighbourhoods in North America and the Caribbean achieve their full potential on and off the field.
He is also the Founder and Chairman of DeRo United – the parent arm for his soccer academy, house league and summer camps, as well as Co- founder of “PAPI” (Professional Athletes Private Investment Fund), a vehicle to support athletes and teach them how to wisely invest money.
DeRo has many passions and music & entertainment is one of them. He is Co-Founder of Champions Lifestyles a Toronto based entertainment and event management company, focused on high end, luxurious experiences.
In addition to his personal causes, DeRo also serves as an Ambassador for MLSE, the ownership group of his former club team Toronto FC, and as an Ambassador for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
