Khamica Bingham is a two-time Olympic track athlete specializing in the 100m and 200m events. She anchored her 4x100m relay team to a sixth-place finish in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Khamica also anchored the 4x100m relay team that broke the Canadian record during the 2015 World Relays, which helped them qualify for the Olympics.
Raised in Brampton, Ontario, Khamica was a national level gymnast who took up track at the age of 15. When one of her best friends passed away during a tragic accident in 2015, Khamica made a promise to herself that she was going to do everything that he wouldn’t get the opportunity to do. That same year, she won the senior 100m national title and raced in the 100m final at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, setting a new personal best time of 11.13. A few days later, Khamica anchored the women’s 4x100m relay to a bronze medal.
Khamica is the co-founder of Meet My Melanin, an organization that speaks on racial inclusivity through motivational speaking and virtual events to help the minority community and disadvantaged youth feel seen, heard and known. She also received her Bachelor’s degree from York University in Humanities and Communications.
